The Cluster Chief for Business development will be in charge of setting the team's strategic direction. They will be in charge of carrying out our strategic efforts to raise brand awareness, qualified lead generation, and sales for the company and its clients.
The ideal candidate is either extroverted or introverted but highly expressive. They are people who can work well with others and inspire intrinsic motivation.
They have natural leadership qualities, and their personalities command attention when they enter a room.
They are lively, executioners, and can make very rational, strategic decisions.
Creating, evaluating and optimizing marketing strategies
Analyzing market trends and preparing forecasts.
Generating new business leads.
Increasing brand awareness and market share.
Coordinating marketing strategies with the sales, financial, creative, brand strategy, data, media buying and account management team
Developing and managing the marketing budget.
Overseeing branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
Managing the marketing team
Setting goals using the OKR framework
Preparing and presenting quarterly and annual reports to senior management.
Managing organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue, and expense controls.
Meeting planned sales goals.
Setting individual sales targets with the sales team.
Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary.
Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team.
Developing your sales team through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education.
Promoting the organization and products.
Understand our ideal customers and how they relate to our products.
Managing the team responsible for communicating with clients to understand their needs and explain product value.
Building relationships with clients based on trust and respect.
Collaborating with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment.
Collecting and analyzing data to learn more about consumer behavior.
Maintaining updated knowledge of company products and services.
Resolving complaints and preventing additional issues by improving processes.
Identifying industry trends.
Acting as a client advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience.
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
Creating a system to help manage clients efficiently
Design creative ways for prospecting potential clients
Design a strategic plan to give direction for sales/marketing and account management
Produce periodic data driven reporting necessary to make informed decisions
Chain of command: Directly reports to the CEO
Span of control: Manages the following team members
Data research and measurement
First Degree certificate in any Business-related field or enough experience to outweigh a business degree
6 – 10 years with minimum 5 years in a leadership position
Certifications or MSc. In Marketing is an added advantage
Familiarity with the media/advertising industry is a plus
Understanding of sales performance metrics.

Excellent leadership skills
Good presentation skills
Excellent oral and written communication
Tech savvy and tech enthusiasm is CRITICAL
Project management skills
Ability to use marketing automation/CRM tools
Comfortable working with data is critical
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
N400,000 and above (+ statutory benefits)
